MSD Bands on a Roll

The MSD rock band project is a huge hit with all of the students. While the students have only been practicing for two months, many of the bands can already play a few bars of a couple of modern rock songs. Now the halls are not only filled with the sound of music they are filled with a rock and roll beat.

Almost all of the musical instruments for the rock band project were researched and donated by a few select parents so more students can participate, and have a chance to play an instrument such as electric and bass guitars, drum kits and keyboards. The bands practice once a week, but many are already asking for more practice time.

The kids are already starting to take ownership of their individual rock bands by coming up with band names. The excitement over rock band in the school has even created our first garage band outside of school called the Tube Screamers. The rock band project is yet another way MSD is inspiring and teaching the students to appreciate all forms of music. So we salute those who are ready to rock!
