The Toddler Program

Our bright and sunny toddler classroom is designed for children ages 18 to 36 months. Tiny tables and chairs, low hooks for jackets and open bookshelves foster independence and exploration. In the toddler room your child paints, plays, cooks, sweeps with miniature brooms, washes dishes and plays with materials that develop fine and gross motor skills. Through play, the children also begin to learn how to use Montessori materials and how to adapt to the next level of Montessori education.

We believe in assisting the toddler in their drive toward self-sufficiency. Children soon learn to take pride in their ability to “do it by myself,” as they master many practical life activities. This is also the age when language development is most actively pursued and we seek to use that drive by surrounding them with rich and stimulating conversation to build vocabulary and confidence.

School should be a joyful place for toddlers. Our toddler program offers your child the opportunity to explore her word under the guidance of trained teachers. The goal is for the toddler to emerge as a confident, independent student ready to move on to the next stage of their Montessori experience.
